Pastor Dan Schmidt
Pastor Dan Schmidt was assigned to serve us in May of 2020 after graduating from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. He and his wife, Becca, moved to Mountain Home in July 2020. Pastor Dan was ordained into the public ministry on May 16, 2021.
Dan was born and raised in Bittern Lake, Alberta, Canada. He attended public school and graduated high school in New Norway, Alberta. He took a year off before attending Martin Luther College (MLC) in New Ulm, MN to begin his training as a pastor. While at MLC, he met Becca. Both Pastor Dan and Becca graduated from MLC in May 2016.
They were married on June 18, 2016. Pastor Dan started at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary (WLS) in Mequon, WI a the end of August 2016. After two years of classroom training at WLS, the Schmidts spent a year in Zumbrota, MN where Pastor Dan was vicar (intern) at Christ Lutheran Church. They then returned to WLS for Pastor Dan’s final year of seminary before being assigned to serve at Trinity. After almost a year of volunteering at the church while he waited for his permanent resident card, we were excited to celebrate his ordination on May 16, 2021.
Becca was born and raised in Cudahy, WI (on the south side of Milwaukee). She attended Lutheran grade school there before going on to attend high school at Wisconsin Lutheran High School (Wisco). After graduating from Wisco in May 2012, she attended MLC to pursue a degree in early childhood ministry. She has taught at several different schools, including Salem Lutheran School and St. Marcus Lutheran School both in Milwaukee. She is currently teaching first grade at Mountain Home Christian Academy.
Pastor Dan and Becca share a love for animals. They have two dogs, two rabbits, and numerous fish. They love taking care of their animals and seeing other people’s animals as well.
They are both passionate to do ministry in Mountain Home and the surrounding areas. They look forward to meeting you and getting to know you.
