Jesus Does Everything Perfectly
They were amazed beyond measure and said, “He has done everything well. He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak!” (Mark 7:37)
When Jesus performed miracles, it often drew the people’s attention. They seemed to be impressed by the miracles that Jesus could perform. And for some of them, this was the proof that they needed to believe that he was the Son of God. But many of them were amazed at his miracles and still refused to believe.
When Jesus healed a man who was deaf and had trouble speaking, the crowd that witnessed the miracle could not stop talking about what Jesus was doing. The more he told them to be quiet, the louder they shouted his praises. They did this because they saw what Jesus was able to do. Their joy was in his ability to do things well.
How true their words were. Jesus did do everything well. In fact, he did everything perfectly. He completely obeyed God’s law. He healed those who were hurting and had compassion for those who were lost. He spoke with authority that came from God. And he taught the people as no one else had ever done. He even gave up his own life for the sins of the world. He allowed himself to die so that we who believe in him would not be cast into hell. And he rose from the dead to prove that our salvation was complete. Jesus not only did everything well; he did everything perfectly for us. Amen.
