No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:37–39)

Worry is a natural reaction for us. It is so easy to worry when things go wrong or they aren’t going the way we had hoped or planned. In those times, we can feel like failures. But Paul tells us that even in those situations when things are out of our control, we are conquerors. We don’t have to feel like failures or like we’ve been defeated because we are connected to the one who conquers and controls all things for us.

Nothing can separate us from the one who conquers for us. Not worry, not depression, not anything else in our lives. Not even the demons or the angels. They are powerless against him. Even Satan himself is powerless against Jesus. Jesus proved that when he rose from the dead. He showed Satan that he was defeated, along with death. They have no power over those whom Jesus has made into his family.

When things seem out of your control trust that Jesus has control. Be a conqueror. Amen.
