The Feast Of Celebration

Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory, because the wedding of the Lamb has come. His bride has made herself ready, and she was given bright, clean, fine linen to wear. (In fact, the fine linen is the “not guilty” verdicts pronounced on the saints.) (Revelation 19:7–8)

As John was given a glimpse into heavenly things, he saw the throne of God and heard what seemed like a large crowd that praised God. This large crowd shouted out the words that John recorded in Revelation 19. Their shouts were shouts of joy and praise to the God who had rescued them. They spoke of a wedding feast, a cause for celebration. It was the wedding feast of the Lamb, Jesus. And his bride was made ready for the wedding.

We are the bride at the wedding feast. We are the ones who rejoice and be glad because we have been invited to the wedding feast. As members of the invisible church, we have been made ready. We have received that “not guilty” verdict that makes us clothed in bright fine linens. We have been made into saints through the blood of Christ poured out for us. And that is reason to celebrate. It is reason to rejoice and be glad. We celebrate that we have a savior who loved us so much. Amen.

The song for today is “At The Lamb’s High Feast We Sing” performed by the MLC Combined Choirs
